Social Ministry
Our Social Ministry activities include:
Community Lunch Program – in cooperation with other Lutheran churches we prepare substantial, home-cooked lunches for hungry people.
Our congregation raises funds for ALS Evergreen Chapter (Lou Gehrig's disease), in memorium of our former paster Doug Langholz.
We assist a Russian orphanage and computer café in Uglich, Russia.
Magnolia Lutheran is a member congregation of Compass Housing Alliance, which provides a wide range of services and housing options for homeless and low-income individuals and families in the Puget Sound region in the Lutheran Tradition. We support this organization through fund raising and volunteer activities.
We help fund the Massai Girl’s School in Tanzania, Africa.
Our women’s groups make quilts, health kits and school kits which are distributed throughout the world.
We raise funds and donate to Lutheran Community Services.
Magnolia Lutheran Church also contributes to about a dozen other charitable programs locally and worldwide.
The unexpected result of all of this is that,
in discovering the promises of our faith,
we receive more than we have given.
